How it all started: Klara comes from a large family of artists and creatives. She grew up in the Hudson River Valley of New York State wandering the woods, playing in streams, fully immersed in the cycles of the seasons. She developed a deep connection with nature early in life, a connection that continues today.
This relationship with nature has been a resource for Klara through trauma, loss, and all the trials of life big and small.
The area where Klara grew up was a hot spot for Lyme Disease (a tick-borne illness). Klara got Lyme Disease as a young teen. Antibiotics resolved the fever, but she was left with chronic joint pain, headaches and fatigue. She eventually found relief through herbs, supplements, nutrition and other natural modalities. She has been symptom-free for decades but her body is still highly sensitive and prone to inflammation if she is not supporting herself properly.
This health challenge early in life eventually led Klara to pursue formal study in acupuncture and East Asian medicine. She graduated in 2016 after completing a rigorous four-year master's program at Emperor’s College in Santa Monica, CA. The college has since closed its doors, but at the time she attended, it was the top-ranked acupuncture school in California. Klara passed her CA licensure exams and started practicing acupuncture and herbal medicine on the West Side of Los Angeles in 2016. In 2019 Klara moved her practice to Montrose, CA, where she's since welcomed patients from Pasadena, Glendale, La Crescenta, La Cañada, and throughout the greater Los Angeles area.
In addition to running her acupuncture practice, Klara is a homeschooling parent of two children. She collaborates with her husband, an aerospace engineer, to keep many balls in the air: career, homeschooling, running the household, kids’ sports and activities, self-care and relationship building.
Klara enjoys many activities outside her acupuncture practice: hiking, reading, writing, gardening, cooking, and camping adventures with her family.
Klara has a special interest in functional gut health. Gut healing has been part of her own healing journey. She has developed a comprehensive six-month gut healing program to address underlying causes of SIBO, IBS, digestive issues, chronic inflammation, low immunity, autoimmunity, skin conditions, and more. She has seen people experience meaningful relief from a wide variety of symptoms over the course of this program. Many patients tell her they have never felt healthier.
Other special areas of interest include perimenopause/menopause and female hormone balancing.
With a decade of clinical experience, Klara has worked with hundreds of patients navigating a wide variety of health challenges: neck pain, back pain, sciatica, SIBO, digestive issues, ulcerative colitis, Hashimoto's, rheumatoid arthritis, PMS/PMDD, PMOS, fertility challenges, perimenopause/menopause, kidney disease, eczema, and anxiety, to name a few. If any of this sounds familiar, Klara invites you to schedule a free discovery call to talk through your unique health challenge.
